Policies are unclear and difficult to enforce

Teach students to prompt critically, not to take shortcuts

A student writes a prompt and hits send. Charter checks it against school policy, the course, and the assignment before it leaves the browser. A request that goes against the AI guidelines for the assignment pauses them before reaching the model. Instead, the student receives a reminder highlighting the guidelines of the assignment and alternative workflow options that would be within them.

One blanket rule can't fit every assignment

Teachers decide what's appropriate, assignment by assignment

Drop in your AI guidelines as they were written. Charter reads them and turns each one into live policy for that course and assignment. Students see those guidelines in the assignment itself, so expectations are explicit on both sides.

Schools need oversight to set direction

Build pedagogy and policy on evidence, not guesswork

See AI adoption and AI literacy across the school, by division, department, and grade, then turn those patterns into targeted interventions: weak prompting in a CS class can point to a student workshop; a policy clause with low compliance can trigger faculty training; a department barely using AI can open a conversation about whether and how the tool can or should be used in what that subject is trying to teach. Let better evidence drive pedagogical strategy.

Parents want evidence, not reassurance

Show families their child is learning safely

Charter keeps student AI use safe. Personal information never leaves the browser: names, student IDs and record details are blocked.

Anything that could put a student at risk — language suggesting distress or self-harm, and signs of emotional dependency or companionship — is flagged for intervention.
